Info:

U2 and The Police
Giants Stadium
June 15th 1986

I originally got this from STG. I think was captured and authored from
the original TV broadcast back in 1986. The audio and video quality
are very good considering the age. The DVD has menus and chapters for
the songs.

A great performance by U2. A lot of stars join U2 on stage during Sun
City. Bono joins The Police on Invisible Sun. Again a lot of stars
join The Police on stage for the concert grand finale I Shall Be
Released.

U2
MLK
Pride (In The Name Of Love)
Bad
Sunday Bloody Sunday
Maggie's Farm / Cold Turkey
Help
Sun City

The Police
Message In A Bottle
King Of Pain
Driven To Tears
Every Breath You Take
Roxanne
Invisible Sun (with Bono)
I Shall Be Released

Extra info from me:

First of all: Thank you Andrew for loading this up for me!

I'd like to give you some extra information about this concert:

The Conspiracy Of Hope was the last tour The Police ever did. Since
this is the last concert of the tour, this is the very last concert
The Police did publically. At the end of the show the members of The
Police, who were at that time the greatest band in the world, gave
their instruments to the band members of U2, who would become the
greatest band in the world.

The Police put it this way in an interview with revolver in Spring
2000:

"Revolver: Invisible Sun was also the last song you performed in
concert as the Police. It was during the first Amnesty tour in 1986. I
remember Sting rehearsing the vocals with Bono backstage in the men's
room.

Sting: That's true, and it was a very symbolic moment. We'd broken up,
then sort of reformed to do the Amnesty Tour. U2 were there as well
and as closed our set with Invisible Sun, Bono came out and sang it
with us. And then we symbolically handed our instruments over to U2,
because they were about to become what we were - the biggest band in
the world.

Revolver: Sting, I remember being backstage when you got Andy and
Stewart to hand over their instruments to U2. But you also added, 'and
make sure you detune them first!'

Stewart Copeland: (laughing) That's some very good advice... I wish
I'd heard that!

Sting: (acting shocked) Why, that's not true, I would never have done
that.

Stewart Copeland: Come on Sting. let it be true, let it be true!

Sting: (innocently) But I'm not that kind of person.

Stewart Copeland: Yes you are. We all are. Let's face it.

Sting: (smiles and makes peace sign) Peace and love!

Andy Summers: (laughs) Okay, we did it to help them get their sound."

15-06-1986 / East Rutherford, NJ / Giants Stadium / USA
• Message In A Bottle - King Of Pain - Driven To Tears - Every Breath
You Take - Roxanne - Invisible Sun - I Shall Be Released
• Festival line-up: Joan Baez, The Neville Brothers, Jackson Browne,
Peter Gabriel, Bryan Adams, Lou Reed, U2, The Police.
• Attendance: 50,207 (P); sellout.
The final show of the Conspiracy Of Hope tour was simulcast on MTV
America and the Westwood One Radio Network. The bill was extended to
create a 12-hour media event. ZZ Top, Whitney Houston, Jeff Beck, Pete
Townshend, Carlos Santana, Third World, Run DMC, Fela Kuti, Miles
Davis, Patti LaBelle and Sarah Vaughn all made appearances in between
the usual acts.
Again Bono joined The Police during Invisible Sun, after which
everyone on today's bill came out for I Shall Be Released. Sting took
off his bass, hugged U2's Adam Clayton and then handed over his bass.
Dozens of genuine prisoners of conscience came on stage hand in hand,
all of them freed by Amnesty, to remind everyone what it was all
about.
In total the six Conspiracy of Hope concerts draw a total of 116,116
people, grossing $4,041,935 for Amnesty, 75% of which was pure profit.
In the weeks to follow, the organisation doubled its membership in the
United States, as over 35,000 applied as a direct result of the tour
and the telethon.

You have to download it with a bittorrent client. The torrent file
gives only information for a bittorrent client about download
locations. The DVD is about 2.5 Gigabyte.

A good bittorrent client is ABC downloadable at
http://pingpong-abc.sourceforge.net/download.php

When you've installed ABC, you can double-clack on your downloaded
dvd.torrent file. ABC will start then and you will see the dvd file
beginning to download.

I answered my own question......
http://btfaq.com/serve/cache/1.html

Where the hell have I been with bit torrent stuff?
I still need to read up on this.
As far as using a firewall, it wouldn't work right away, even when I tried
to configure the firewall. So, I disabled it, began the download and
re-enabled the firewall and the download continued.
Fascinating, Spock.

What application do you use to watch this DVD? I think that's the
source of the problem since I downloaded the same DVD and have no
audio problems at all. Try PowerDVD or WinDVD to view this disc...

P.S. The white borders you see when viewing the DVD on the computer
disappear when you burn it on a DVD+R.

A great performance by U2. A lot of stars join U2 on stage during Sun
City. Bono joins The Police on Invisible Sun. Again a lot of stars
join The Police on stage for the concert grand finale I Shall Be
Released.

First of all: Thank you Andrew for loading this up for me!
